Early Leadership in Diabetes Advocacy
During my medical studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), I took my first step in diabetes advocacy — founding and organising AMSA Diabetes Day, a student-led initiative to raise public awareness, provide education, and encourage early intervention.
The Paradigm That Changed Everything
During my service in a government hospital, I repeatedly saw
the same painful pattern: patients often arrived only after
damage was done — kidney disease, vascular complications.
This reinforced the need for a proactive, comprehensive
approach including wound and nerve assessment.
